TARGETED RECOVERY FAQ

No, I do not. For many reasons I do not support the insurance based PT model. Also, what I provide here is NOTHING like traditional PT. My programs are HSA/FSA eligible. You can also use Klarna and Afterpay to pay over many months and reduce the cost.

What I provide at The Gymnastics PT is nothing like traditional PT, as I stated above. It is exercise based injury recovery programming and coaching. Based on my knowledge as a former NCAA gymnast, coach, judge, and Doctor of Physical Therapy with over 15 years of gymnastics specific PT experience; I am able to coach your gymnast through the injury recovery process and provide her with SPECIFIC exercises for her injury and the demands of her sport. I also coach the WHOLE athlete. From mental struggles, to injury prevention needs, to rehab. I know the big picture matters. Gymnastics is amazing and I want your gymnast to have the best gymnastics experience, however her health is far more important than gymnastics alone. Longevity in gymnastics and BEYOND is the goal. I could go on and on, but what I do here is truly unique and one-of-a-kind. I would check out the testimonials for a better understanding of why this program is far different than the traditional PT model

Depending on the day the exercises can take between 20-30 minutes. Most of the gymnastics in my programs are full-time students and train 20+ hours a week. They tend to fit in their exercises before, after, or during practice. Some girls split the exercises up throughout the day to get them done or even do them between their turns at practice.
-
Each day has a list of the equipment needed. It is minor, inexpensive equipment. For example: ½ and full foam rollers, long and small loop bands, light dumbbells, exercise balls (small and large). You can find all of my commonly recommended exercise equipment HERE.

-This is a great question. The most important things your gymnast can do are: get 8+ hours of sleep a night and eat a well balanced, whole foods diet. Their body needs rest to recharge and energy from food to heal. I also HIGHLY recommend utilizing Red Light Therapy as a healing tool. I am a huge proponent of avoiding ibuprofen and medications on growing bodies and utilizing natural healing and pain reduction techniques as much as possible. Red Light Therapy has been proven to help with decreasing chronic inflammation, promoting cellular turnover, and speeding the healing process for both illness and injury. You can find my FAVORITE red light HERE. I partner with this company because this is the closest you will get to a medical grade device, in fact a lot of medical offices use THIS DEVICE. It is low in EMF exposure and high in near infrared and red light frequency - which is the PERFECT combination.
-When you sign-up for the program, I also provide a detailed program guide that has other helpful tips to help with injury recovery.

I totally get it. I was an injured gymnast myself, and I know the emotional toll it can take on a gymnast when she cannot do the thing that brings her the most joy and is unable to participate with her friends. My program will not only help her with the injury itself, but the provided program guide and coaching involves tips, and worksheets for goal setting and developing a positive mindset around the injury recovery process. I find that by helping your gymnast learn to set realistic goals and focus on the positive part of the injury recovery journey, she will come back even stronger than before. You and your gymnast also gain access to a private app, where we can chat about all the ups and downs that come with injury recovery. We often spend time during our monthly small group coaching call talking about how to come back from injury physically and mentally strong!

You will get an immediate email from me with a Program Guide, Intake Form and the next steps. It will explain EVERYTHING. Please review that guide and fill out the intake form as soon as possible. I will also ask you your gymnasts preferred off day for rest and a few other questions. You can message or email me with your gymnasts preferred start day, if I don’t hear from you, she will start the following day if sign-up occurs between Monday-Thursday. If sign-up is Friday - Sunday, she will start Monday.
-
Throughout the program, I encourage your gymnast to take ownership over her gymnastics and recovery process. I suggest that throughout the program, she finds a secure place to write down exercises that are the most helpful for her, compiling a list of 10 exercises or more by the time the program is over. Those will serve as her maintenance program and something she can utilize in the future. Once the program is complete, she should be feeling good and ready to roll into the Prehab & Performance Program which is a monthly injury prevention and strength training maintenance program. You can find details on that program HERE. The majority of my clients choose to continue enhancing their gymnasts by participating in that program after completion of their injury recovery program.

Targeted Recovery Success Stories
Don’t just take my word for it, hear it from gymnasts and families who have participated in the Targeted Recovery Program!
“Brittany specifically gives you exercises for gymnastics. After two weeks of starting her program, I started to see results. I was able to do things that I wasn’t able to do for a year…I am now able to do everything again and I am so happy! I have already competed three times this year!”

But beyond that, she definitely feels challenged with all of the exercises, especially because they are different every day. Her injury feels tremendously better in the month that she has been doing Brittany‘s targeted program! Brittany has been available to us to walk us through everything and has been so supportive! We are so grateful that we made the choice to pivot away from traditional PT and start using Brittany‘s program. I can only imagine that in the next two months of the program my daughter will progress even more with her healing because one month in she is already feeling a huge difference! Yes, it was an investment. But the results we’ve seen in only a month have been so substantial! And besides helping my daughter physically, this has helped her so much mentally. Being injured was hard and frustrating and she was losing her drive. Getting back in the gym with very little pain has done wonders for her motivation! We don’t regret our investment whatsoever!”
“We stopped PT and signed up for her targeted program. It has been incredible! First of all, the transition was so smooth. The app is super easy to navigate and my daughter loves the demo videos so she knows she’s doing the exercises correctly.
