A BIT ABOUT THE PROGRAM

My goal is to provide a clear plan tailored to your gymnast’s recovery while giving you confidence in working with a gymnastics injury expert.

This is not a one-size-fits-all program—I work with you & your gymnasts to help them safely return to gymnastics and reach their goals!

“Things happen in life that change your plan. It’s not the things that are the problem, it’s YOU allowing them to derail you. Stay Focused.”

GENERAL FAQ

  • No, I do not. For many reasons I do not support the insurance based PT model. Also, what I provide here is NOTHING like traditional PT. My programs are HSA/FSA eligible. You can also use Klarna and Afterpay to pay over many months and reduce the cost.

  • What I provide at The Gymnastics PT is nothing like traditional PT, as I stated above. It is exercise based injury recovery programming and coaching. Based on my knowledge as a former NCAA gymnast, coach, judge, and Doctor of Physical Therapy with over 15 years of gymnastics specific PT experience; I am able to coach your gymnast through the injury recovery process and provide her with SPECIFIC exercises for her injury and the demands of her sport. I also coach the WHOLE athlete. From mental struggles, to injury prevention needs, to rehab. I know the big picture matters. Gymnastics is amazing and I want your gymnast to have the best gymnastics experience, however her health is far more important than gymnastics alone. Longevity in gymnastics and BEYOND is the goal. I could go on and on, but what I do here is truly unique and one-of-a-kind. I would check out the testimonials for a better understanding of why this program is far different than the traditional PT model.

  • -This is a great question. The most important things your gymnast can do are: get 8+ hours of sleep a night and eat a well balanced, whole foods diet. Their body needs rest to recharge and energy from food to heal. I also HIGHLY recommend utilizing Red Light Therapy as a healing tool. I am a huge proponent of avoiding ibuprofen and medications on growing bodies and utilizing natural healing and pain reduction techniques as much as possible. Red Light Therapy has been proven to help with decreasing chronic inflammation, promoting cellular turnover, and speeding the healing process for both illness and injury. You can find my FAVORITE red light HERE. I partner with this company because this is the closest you will get to a medical grade device, in fact a lot of medical offices use THIS DEVICE. It is low in EMF exposure and high in near infrared and red light frequency - which is the PERFECT combination.

-When you sign-up for the program, I also provide a detailed program guide that has other helpful tips to help with injury recovery.

  • I totally get it. I was an injured gymnast myself, and I know the emotional toll it can take on a gymnast when she cannot do the thing that brings her the most joy and is unable to participate with her friends. My program will not only help her with the injury itself, but the provided program guide and coaching involves tips, and worksheets for goal setting and developing a positive mindset around the injury recovery process. I find that by helping your gymnast learn to set realistic goals and focus on the positive part of the injury recovery journey, she will come back even stronger than before. You and your gymnast also gain access to a private app, where we can chat about all the ups and downs that come with injury recovery. We often spend time during our monthly small group coaching call talking about how to come back from injury physically and mentally strong!

FULL SCOOPE RECOERY FAQ

  • This depends entirely on you, your schedule, your goals, your movement assessment, and what we discuss. It will be custom to what you need.

  • Each day has a list of the equipment needed. It is minor, inexpensive equipment. For example: ½ and full foam rollers, long and small loop bands, light dumbbells, exercise balls (small and large). You can find all of my commonly recommended exercise equipment HERE.

  • You will get an email directly from me with information for the next steps, including: a full program guide, steps for a movement assessment, questions about your gymnasts preferred 1:1 small group coaching call, off day, gymnastics skills, and more. This is a really in-depth, custom and high touch program. Your email will be curated to you.

  • Throughout the program, I encourage your gymnast to take ownership over her gymnastics and recovery process. I suggest that throughout the program, she finds a secure place to write down exercises that are the most helpful for her, compiling a list of 10 exercises or more by the time the program is over. Those will serve as her maintenance program and something she can utilize in the future. Once the program is complete, she should be feeling good and ready to roll into the Prehab & Performance Program which is a monthly injury prevention and strength training maintenance program. You can find details on that program HERE. The majority of my clients choose to continue enhancing their gymnasts by participating in that program after completion of their injury recovery program.

Full Scope Recovery Success Stories

Don’t just take my word for it, hear it from gymnasts and families who have participated in the Full Scope Recovery Program!

“I would highly recommend working with Brittany Lapinski for any gymnast with an injury. Through Brittany’s exercise therapy program, we experienced a combination of strength and rehabilitation that we had not seen in previous recoveries. The plans were tailored to my daughter’s specific needs and injuries. We saw not only an ability to recover from injury but also experienced strengthening and confidence to progress as a competitive gymnast. Brittany's attentiveness and response to questions and follow-up was superb."

“Everyone should have a PT like Brittany – she's incredible. She understood the unique injuries and mental aspects of gymnastics. After a virtual assessment, she created a customized, full-body plan that not only corrected my daughter’s hip flexor pain but also improved her mobility and strengthened weaker areas. The plans were challenging but doable – and a complete success. Now that my daughter is back in 'fighting form,' we know we have a true expert in our back pocket who cares. We are so grateful for Brittany!"

– Mom of an Xcel Dimond

She was so frustrated and ready to quit before your program. Even after graduating from your one on one months ago, she still does the exercises daily. I see her warming up with them before she tumbles and vaults, doing them at home on her off days, and using her extra time while she waits on her sister at the gym to do other exercises and stretches. She sees the benefits in the program and continues to use them.  I can’t thank you enough for the time and effort you put into her. You have continued to be available to answer questions and cheer her on in her gymnastics progression. I also catch her watching your videos for more ideas so I know that she knows you know your stuff"

– Mom of an Xcel

“While she may have been one of your most quiet and stubborn customers she still continues to do your exercises. I truly believe that she only made it through this season due to your rehab.

B was finally able to start working with Brittany in May after being non-weight bearing for 7 weeks. The funny thing was B’s surgeon wasn’t even recommending PT because he said their goal would just be to get her walking and she was already able to do that. Thankfully, we already had Brittany and she had a plan to help B safely return to the gym. The return is slowly happening and Brittany has been so encouraging and I absolutely love that we can message her with questions and concerns before, during and even after practice. She has lived the life and she GETS IT! That fact alone is worth everything! Gymnastics is a unique sport that is just as much mental as it is physical and having an expert who understands the physical mechanics and the mental ones is INVALUABLE! I tell B all the time that her gymnastics journey is unique and she has a story to tell, we are both so thankful that Brittany is a part of that story!"

“Ever have one of those interactions with a person where you just know that person is supposed to be a part of your life? For our family that is exactly what happened with Brittany.

  • "A win from this week is I won floor this weekend at my competition and I placed on beam."

  • "I caught my Shaposh and I thought some of my shoulder exercises felt a little easier and looked better."

  • "I had 0-1 pain this week. I tried the side sumo last week but it gave me some pain (1) and stopped and plan to try again next week. Jumps are back and getting bigger."
